The Office of Procurement in Information Technology (IT) works with vendors to negotiate educational site-licensing and discount agreements for technology items purchased for the university. Many of these vendors also offer discounts on personal purchases made by current Rice faculty, staff, and students.

The Technology Marketplace web site does not sell items directly; instead, it directs you to the online catalogs of companies offering Rice-specific discounts. Advances in technology occur so rapidly that we can only offer general purchasing recommendations. If you have questions or are seeking advice about a potential purchase of computers, software, cell phones or other technology-related devices, contact the IT Help Desk.
